BUSY BEES! We've got something truly special on tap for Aug.23! Come see a beautiful honey bee hive in action. Stuart Woronecki of Stonewall Apiary, one of our market vendors, at 10:00 a.m. will present an informational talk on honey bees and beekeeping. He'll have a beautiful and lively exhibit, so be sure to stop by. There will be an observation hive on display where you can see bees at work and see if you can find the queen!
WORMS! What could we possibly be talking about? Stop by the market Aug 23rd and see why (and how) worms help farming!
THE MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM
The Master Gardener Program is an Educational Outreach Program that is part of the University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension System. The program started in 1978 and consists of horticulture training and an outreach component that focus on the community at large. Master Gardeners are enthusiastic, willing to learn and share their knowledge and training with others. What sets them apart from other home gardeners is their special horticultural training. In exchange for this training, Master Gardeners commit time as volunteers working through their local Cooperative Extension Center and the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford to provide horticultural-related information to the community. Master Gardeners will be on hand every market Saturday to share their wealth of information, so be sure to stop by! |
